Wow. I really stink at blogging. It's been more than a month. Haha. oops.
So much has happened since Alaska. I never even told you anything about Alaska. Hmm...
Alright, this is what I'm going to do: I'll start with what's happening right now and then do flashbacks. That way I don't have to write novels for the next few weeks.
DAY: 13 Jul, 2010
LOCATION: Starbucks Coffee, Nassau, Bahamas
WEATHER: Bright, hurricane-y looking, big black clouds that look like mountains, slightly scary, HOT & HUMID
STATUS: Overwhelmed, Excited, Tired, Slightly delirious, Constantly LOST. Woo.
Today is my 3rd day on board the Disney WONDER. I honestly have No idea where to start. I'll give you an overview of what I've been doing since I arrived in Florida last week and then maybe go from there. Si? Ok.
My plane landed in Orlando on Wednesday afternoon. By the time I got to the hotel it was sort of late. And since I didn't sleep AT ALL the night before I was sort of pooped. Disney arranged the whole thing. I took a shuttle to the Disney All Star Sports Resort which is on DWorld property right by all the parks. A few minutes after I plopped into that delicious cool bed my room mate walked in. What they do is arrange for all the "new hires" to arrive on the same day, train them all together, send them to the ship together, put them through more training together and then go their merry ways. You refer to your group as your "traditions group". They all come from all over the world and all work in different departments on the ship. Anyway, my roomie's name is Elsa and she's from Mexico! Woo! And she's going to be working as a Youth Activities Counselor as well.
The next day we met the rest of our group and went to sign some papers. I was expecting to be sitting there learning about about policies all day long but after about two hours they handed us ID cards and said "enjoy the parks". I was so excited I started bouncing. So we all got together and headed over to Magic Kingdom. For those that don't know, Disneyland in CA only has Magic Kingdom. Disneyworld, on the other hand, is made up of a bunch of parks; Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Studios), Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach (water park) and I feel like I'm missing one...oh well. Those are the important ones. The property is huge and there are tons of Hotels and resorts. Badass resorts with awesome themes. Oh! Downtown Disney! That's the other one. It's basically a big mall, only amazing. Look it up online.
So anyway, we spent the day at Magic Kingdom. It was super. Every time I walk down Mainstreet (DLand too) I feel like singing and dancing. It's beautiful. The music, the smells, the happiness just gushes from everyone and everything.
Oh jeez, I'm out of time. Back to work and some more training. Woo.
I'll try to be better about posting stuff and maybe not go on tangents so much.
Miss you all.
Later!
It's about time! Do they have characters on the boat? Pictures are coming next, yes? :P Miss you! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!!!! Did you get to go on all the rides for free???
ReplyDeleteHey! Sorry it's taken me so long to reply!
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are a bunch of characters on the boat. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, chip + Dale, Hook, Peter, Lilo, Stitch (MY FAVORITE! He's so funny), Cinderella, Snow White, Belle and the very popular Princess Tiana from the Princess & the Frog.
TJ: I did get to go on the rides for free. It was fun. Seems like such a long time ago. Craziness.
I miss you all. More to come soon!
